Thankfully, many people are working behind the scenes to make tax season a little easier for all of us this year. Vermont 211 staff have also been busy compiling updated information about tax forms, e-filing sites, free tax filing assistance and taxpayer advocates services in your area.

Our Contact specialist team can connect you with the experts who know about the tools and services to help you navigate and comply with tax laws and regulations. The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA) provides free tax help to those Vermonters who qualify and need assistance in preparing their own tax returns. We partner with local United Ways, Regional Community Action Programs and others who may also provide VITA tax preparation assistance in their local communities for those in need.

We can also suggest some online resources that provide assistance such as IRS Free File, Military OneSource and My Free Taxes to name a few.

So whether you need help registering for the VITA program, or information about what other options may be available, including where to find online tax preparations programs, please do not hesitate to call, text, or email. Dial 211, or 800-652-4636, from any cell phone or landline, text your zip code to 898211, email us at info@vermont211.org, or search our online Community Resource Directory at https://vermont211.org/. We are here to help!
