Starting September 1, VT 211 is no longer allowed to provide General Assistance (GA) Emergency Housing intake and vouchers after hours. 

This service is now only available through the State's Economic Services Division (ESD): Monday–Friday, 7:45am–4:30pm at 1-800-775-0506. Call to find out if you're eligible. If you need help placing the call or need accessible options, your local district office can assist in person. 

VT 211 is still here to help. We're available 8am–10pm, 7 days a week, 365 days a year to connect you with other community resources: including local shelters, cold weather shelters, food, transportation, and other health and human services.

PLEASE READ if you need EMERGENCY HOUSING

If you are in need of emergency housing, please do not email or text us. Please call us at 211 or 802-652-4636 or 866-652-4636. We are unable to provide intakes for motel rooms via email or text. Emergency housing call hours at VT 211 are 4:30pm-10pm weekdays, and 8am-10pm on weekends and holidays.

Please be aware, email is checked and responded to Monday-Friday between 8am-10pm only.

If you are unable to reach us, PLEASE LEAVE A MESSAGE and allow staff the opportunity to return your call. Your message should include your name and phone number. If you do not answer when we try to contact you, VT 211 staff will leave a message.
